Samuel Okoronkwo Barrister

Samuel Okoronkwo is a Barrister who was Called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2002, after holding senior managerial, directorship, and in-house counsel positions at SMEs across corporate, construction and development, and sports industries. His experience in these industries are the foundation of his current practice at the Bar, culminating in over 30 years of commercial, professional and legal practice experience.

Key strengths

Samuel is proficient in oral and written advocacy in contentious and non-contentious legal work. Regardless of the complexity of a legal matter, or the technical legal issues behind each case, he is able to isolate and present the key issues tactfully and forcefully. He has the ability to represent his client’s interests efficiently, clearly explaining intricate issues in a way that is easy to understand whilst putting them at ease. 

Real-world industry experience

Prior to his Call to the Bar, Samuel gained invaluable hands-on construction industry expertise, training and practising as Quantity Surveyor; as well as running a number of enterprises This enables him to apply his practical experience to solve legal issues to high net individuals and SMEs.

Whilst operating within the construction and engineering industry as a Quantity Surveyor, his first position was with Henry Cooper & Sons, a well-respected firm who have been established since 1775.  Moving on to act as a Construction Project Manager, he amassed valuable first-hand managerial responsibility for the planning, organising, directing and delivery of multi-million-pound construction and engineering projects.  This included the Harlequin Shopping Centre in Watford for Capital & Counties Plc, and the regeneration of London’s Canary Wharf business district with Lehrer McGovern International and Olympia & York.

The entrepreneurial period

Samuel’s entrepreneurial experience has also contributed to his extensive  knowledge in the property development industry.  Here he handled an impressive portfolio, bringing him into contact with all aspects of complex land assembly, design development, development appraisals, planning consents, project financing, development procurement and management, asset disposals and retention.
